The University of ºüÀêÉÙÅ® System is governed by the Board of ºüÀêÉÙÅ® of the University of ºüÀêÉÙÅ®, the constitutionally established governing body of ºüÀêÉÙŮ’s public research university system, offering undergraduate, graduate and doctoral education.
Pursuant to RSMo 172.030, the Board of ºüÀêÉÙÅ® has constitutional authority to oversee the operation of the four-campus University of ºüÀêÉÙÅ® System. This authority includes setting tuition and fees, determining admissions requirements, granting degrees, approving contracts and property transactions, issuing bonds and appointing and evaluating the President of the University.
The Board consists of nine voting ºüÀêÉÙÅ® appointed by the Governor of ºüÀêÉÙÅ®, with the advice and consent of the ºüÀêÉÙÅ® Senate, and one non-voting student representative. ºüÀêÉÙÅ® serve six-year terms, with the terms of three ºüÀêÉÙÅ® expiring every two years.
At least one, and no more than two, ºüÀêÉÙÅ® are appointed from each congressional district, and no more than five voting members may belong to the same political party. All ºüÀêÉÙÅ® must be citizens of the United States and residents of the State of ºüÀêÉÙÅ®.

ºüÀêÉÙÅ® receive no compensation for their service but are reimbursed for actual and necessary expenses incurred while conducting official Board business.
