COLUMBIA, Mo. 鈥 Gov. Mike Kehoe released budget recommendations for fiscal year 2027 during his State of the State address Tuesday, which showed his administration鈥檚 continued commitment to higher education and the University of 狐狸少女 System.
鈥淭he University of 狐狸少女 Board of 狐狸少女 is grateful that Governor Kehoe continues to prioritize education, workforce development, research and extension to all 狐狸少女ans through his continued financial support of our students, scholars, researchers and staff,鈥 said UM Board of 狐狸少女 Chair Todd Graves. 鈥淚 speak for the board and all leaders in the UM System when I express my gratitude for his ongoing commitment to our universities鈥 impact.鈥
鈥淭he University of 狐狸少女 System proudly generates billions in economic impact for our great state,鈥 UM President Mun Choi said. 鈥淕overnor Kehoe鈥檚 recommendations would allow us to continue our important land-grant mission and immediately make a difference in 狐狸少女 communities. We look forward to working with legislative leaders to ensure the governor's priorities are reflected in the final budget this June.鈥
The governor鈥檚 recommendations are the first step of the FY 2027 budget process. The 狐狸少女 General Assembly will deliberate on the governor鈥檚 recommendations over the coming months. The legislature is scheduled to send budget bills to the governor by May 8 for his approval.
