Senate and House Make Progress:

This week, the Senate moved multiple bills to the House: 

: Requires state departments to report on obsolete administrative entities, repeals certain administrative entities and repeals and reassigns duties for certain other administrative entities (Passed 30-0) 

  • : Filing of income tax returns (Passed 28-2)
  • : Department of Revenue fee offices (Passed 30-0)
  • : Sewage regulation (Passed 29-1)

The House sent over several bills to the Senate: 

  • : Workers’ compensation (Passed 86-62)
  • : Protection of children and vulnerable persons (Passed 148-2) ()
  • : Establishes procedures for school districts to test for gifted students (Passed 142-8) ()
  • : Campaign contributions (Passed 134-16) · HB1628: Modifies provisions relating to the Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development (Passed 153-0)
  • : Gender transition procedures (Passed 102-40) ()
  • : Dental professions (Passed 138-10)
  • : Allows the director of the department of public safety to deny a peace officer license if an applicant is not a U.S. citizen or has had a license permanently revoked or suspended (Passed 101-36)
  • : Allows the court to enter a judgment of dissolution of marriage or legal separation if a person is pregnant (Passed 147-0) ()
  • : Dietitians (Passed 137-8)
  • : Mail sent by state agencies (Passed 146-0)
  • : Clinical fellowships required for licensure as a speech-language pathologist (Passed 144-0)

The House budget committee will hear several budget bills on Tuesday, February 13th. Public comments will also be taken.
